Description
Finnish heavy psych / space rock three piece returns with their second full-length album "Ignition Sector". After being recorded already in late summer of 2020, the band soon afterwards went into a few year period of semi-inactivity causing a drag for the finishing jobs of the album, but now the record finally sees the light of the day.
The album pretty much picks up where things left with debut album "Spiraled Beyond The Reach" (Kozmik Artifactz, 2019), with new gear shifted in on intensity. Recording in the same studio and environment, with the same mindset and personnel proved to be a working formula. End result is approximately 45 minutes of spaced out instrumental heavy psych pummeling captured by Tom Brooke at Tonehaven studios. Swirling, almost heavy-esque guitars, melodic and roaring basslines and drums racing on razor's edge. Bit like Hawkwind in the 80's mixed with more Central European psych tradition, built on firm Earthless-like jam-foundations.
Kouvola-based trio have been alive and kickin since 2016, with two EPs and one full-length released before this one. It's typical for the band's songs to be of jam-principle, somewhat lengthy, repetitive, evolving, meditative and captivating. Songs are more or less conjured into existence through jamming and improvisation in the moment between the band members. Sometimes going in at full speed, sometimes taking time to catch some breath, and sometimes descending into freak out chaos, but always hard hitting.
